Why we sometimes need extra digestive enzymes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The stomach as a cause of complaints<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

As soon as the stomach does not produce optimal stomach acid<\/strong> and the pancreas<\/strong> does not produce enough enzymes, the food stagnates and starts to ‘rot’ at the beginning of the intestine. This causes heartburn, sometimes resulting in a so-called ‘reflux’. The acidified stomach contents rise into the esophagus. An incorrect diagnosis of this problem translates into incorrect advice with antacids. The incorrect thinking is the result of the description that people give to their complaint: namely as ‘heartburn’. This heartburn is not the result of excess stomach acid, but of the slowdown<\/strong> in stomach function<\/strong>, which causes the food to ‘sour’ and push up (reflux) due to the long stay in the stomach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to a changed acidity (pH), the pancreatic enzymes cannot do their work optimally.
